About

Dr. Prybyla is a board-certified joint replacement surgeon. He treats patients for hip and knee pain, performing over 600 joint replacements a year, including both primary and complex revision surgeries. Nearly all of his replacements are done using minimally invasive techniques. For knee replacements, Dr. Prybyla utilizes robotics when appropriate. He also specializes in the direct superior technique for total hip arthroplasty which is a less invasive posterior surgical approach.

With a focus on rapid recovery, Dr. Prybyla developed a multimodal pain control regimen to help his patients with an easier rehabilitation period. Additionally, most surgeries take place in an outpatient setting so patients can get home quicker to start their recovery.

Dr. Prybyla treats his patients conservatively first, with surgery being the final option if all else fails. Non-operative treatments can include cortisone shorts and physical therapy.

A graduate of Yale University and Albany Medical College, he completed his residency training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. Dr. Prybyla then completed a fellowship in adult joint reconstruction surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

He is a fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

In his personal time, Dr. Prybyla spends time with his family, including coaching his daughters’ basketball teams year-round.
